Man suffers head injury in recent construction accident

Many construction workers in Colorado and elsewhere make use of various types of equipment when performing job-related duties at heights. While safety procedures and gear may go a long way in reducing the chances of an accident, should the necessary equipment prove faulty or defective, the safety of a worker may be at risk. A man has suffered a head injury after falling from scaffolding in a recent construction accident in another state.

The incident took place on a recent Monday morning as the man was performing work for an asbestos removal contractor. According to reports, he was working around 15 feet in the air with use of scaffolding when he suddenly fell to the ground below. Upon arriving at the scene, emergency officials placed the man on a stretcher and rushed him to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.

An investigation into the incident is underway, and the man's boss has reportedly stated that a potential issue with a latch on the scaffolding may have been a contributing factor. Construction companies are required to properly maintain similar pieces of equipment and repair or replace any defective or faulty parts. Should this fail to occur, the safety of a worker could be placed at risk, and falls from heights can be devastating.

When suffering serious injuries in a construction accident, one may be entitled to relief through the workers' compensation insurance system. Since this can be a complex process, a person could benefit from seeking assistance from an attorney. An attorney can evaluate the situation and assist a client in Colorado in pursuing the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled through every applicable source.
