On Behalf of | Aug 1, 2013 | Firm News, Workplace Accidents

Everyday millions of people get up and go to work in order to make a living and provide for their families. Everyone one assumes that they will return home to their families when the work day is complete. However, one man who was injured at work will not be returning to his loved ones because the injuries he received were fatal. Workplace accidents can cause serious injuries to workers everywhere, including Colorado.

The 52-year-old man was reportedly operating a forklift at his place of employment when the accident took occurred. It was reported that the forklift somehow went off the end of the paved lot and fell down into a ditch. The machinery landed on top of the victim, trapping him.

A second forklift was brought in to lift the first one off of the man. Rescue workers were called to the scene but the man died before he could be taken to a local hospital. Field investigators from OSHA have reported that they are looking into what may have caused the accident.

This man has died after being injured at work. Even if OSHA can provide answers for what caused the fatal work place accident it will do little to provide comfort to his survivors. However workers’ compensation may provide some relief from the burden caused by lost wages and funeral expenses in the form of death benefits to this worker’s loved ones. Workers in Colorado who may have questions concerning the types of benefits they or their loved ones may be eligible for in the event of an accident or injury on the job can obtain information from the many resources that are available to them.
