Construction accident can happen in Colorado

On Behalf of | Feb 8, 2013 | Construction Workers' Accidents, Firm News

Many readers in Colorado know that working on a construction site can be a dangerous job. This is clear when one reads about the myriad of construction accident injury cases that people in our state and across the nation suffer each day. In fact, working on a construction site is what led to a serious arm injury for one man recently.

According to a report, the man was performing construction work involving dirt at the time of the accident. Officials indicate that the man suffered a serious crush injury to his arm after it got wedged in between the bed and body of a dump truck. Reports further state that the man’s arm may have been severed as a result of the construction accident. It is not clear how his arm became trapped in this unfortunate incident.

As a result of the construction accident, the man was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Now, he is beginning the process of recovering from his injury. He may face weeks or even months of recovery time, depending upon the severity of his injury and his prognosis.

In cases of a construction accident such as this one in Colorado, those who have been injured may be able to seek benefits from our state’s workers’ compensation program. Such benefits are intended to help an injured worker with their financial needs as they recover from an injury or illness suffered on the job. Though not every case will result in benefit payments from the insurance program, they are available in situations such as this one. Workers’ compensation can help to pay medical bills and for basic needs as a person begins to recover and eventually returns to work.
