Demolition project employee suffers fatal workplace injury

On Behalf of | Apr 24, 2017 | Firm News, Workplace Accidents

Certain professions are inherently considered to be much more dangerous than others. Individuals in Colorado who work in fields such as demolition are often subjected to intense safety training to reduce the chance of a dangerous incident. Unfortunately, preventing every accident in the workplace can be challenging. A man in another state recently suffered a fatal workplace injury while operating at a demolition site.

The man had apparently worked for the company for around nine years. He was working on a structure demolition project at the time, when an accident occurred that claimed his life. While investigators have yet to identify the exact cause of the incident, the company in question has advised that it will cooperate fully with further investigations.

Companies have made numerous advancements in safety regulations and equipment that go a long way in providing employees with a safer workspace. Despite these strides in safety, families across the country continue to lose loved ones to accidents at work. Along with the extreme emotional grief, such a tragedy can also cause surviving family members to experience financial hardships that often accompany end-of-life expenses.

Families who have lost a loved one to a fatal workplace injury may soon find themselves in need of financial assistance, especially if the deceased was the main source of income. When facing such a difficult situation, families often speak with an attorney for advice on available options. An attorney in Colorado can assist a family in pursuing relief through the workers’ compensation insurance system, and also advise them on any other form of restitution to which they may be entitled.
