Crane accidents often involve serious injury, or worse

Construction companies are often required to use cranes to transport materials around a job site. While there are numerous benefits to using one, there may also be a certain level of risk involved. Many individuals in Colorado have been involved in crane accidents over the years, which often lead to serious injury, or worse. A man in another state has died following a recent accident under similar circumstances.

The man was a Portuguese immigrant who was working at a union construction site at the time of the incident. According to reports, a load fell off a crane and hit the man, killing him in the process. The Buildings Department in the city in which the accident took place has reportedly initiated an investigation.

Cranes are often used to carry heavy loads to and from certain areas of a job site. This makes the transportation of materials much easier and faster. Unfortunately, if the load is not properly secured and/or the machine is defective, the safety of everyone nearby may be at risk. With these machines often lifting materials to significant heights, the possible fall of said materials can be catastrophic.

Workers who are seriously injured in crane accidents often have extensive medical expenses and recovery times. In the event that a worker is killed, surviving family members may experience various hardships as well. Victims and/or family members may choose to speak with an attorney in Colorado for assistance in seeking relief through the workers' compensation benefit system. If a third party is deemed culpable for the accident in any way, an attorney can also assist an individual in seeking any compensation to which he or she may be entitled.
