Risk of being injured on the job in Colorado

Information published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics recently revealed that certain professions may place workers at a greater risk of being injured on the job. Work that requires the use of machinery or exists within an unpredictable environment in Colorado may place a person in a more dangerous situation than other positions permit. An employer may be required to provide proper safety equipment and training to help prevent workers being injured on the job.

The study found that certain construction jobs, such as roofing, can be dangerous for many reasons. Falling from heights can result in blunt force trauma that often leads to disability or death. Burns from chemicals and exposure to power lines can increase a person's risk of injury as well.

The use of certain hand held machinery used in logging can place a worker in a dangerous position when a tree is brought down. The equipment and heavy falling trees pose a risk of crushing and amputation. This is currently considered the most hazardous job in America.

Professions that require employees to operate with little sleep can create a hazardous situation from deprivation and may contribute to many accidents. High risk jobs and work environments can place an employee at a greater risk of being injured on the job. An employee in Colorado that has suffered debilitating damage from a work accident may be in need of compensation to assist with medical expenses. Some victims may seek out help in pursuing all available benefits and treatments. In addition to medical costs and related expenses, funds are typically available to help an injured worker with income lost due to an inability to work while recovering from a work injury.
