Colorado cycling challenge accident leads to on-the-job injury

A recent accident at a Colorado cycling event shows that accidents can occur to anyone, anywhere. In a recent unusual accident, a cameraman suffered an on-the-job injury after the motorcycle the man was on was struck by a car. The accident happened at an event of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.

According to reports, the television camera motorcycle was in the heart of the action when a team car hit it from behind. The force of the collision caused the motorcycle to crash, throwing the driver to the ground. The other driver involved was also thrown. The cameraman was injured requiring treatment at a local hospital where his injuries were not considered to be severe. The other driver only sustained bruises and did not require any treatment.

The crash occurred when one of the cyclists dropped behind the group, which led to the driver and motorcyclist following suit. No one involved has received a citation in the accident, and according to Colorado State Patrol and local authorities, police did not become involved. The condition of the cameraman has not been updated.

Anyone can suffer an on-the-job injury, no matter what industry they choose to work in. Thankfully, Colorado recognizes the financial devastation that can result from such injury to the worker and their family and provides for workers' compensation benefits. In some cases, working through the process of obtaining workers' compensation benefits can be challenging. Every situation is different, which is why it may benefit Colorado workers to seek help should they get stuck in the process. Having the right tools can help workers ensure that they get the best results possible to keep them moving forward.
